Flagg Flanagan started Flanagan Instruments, a surgical device distribution business, more than 30 years ago. He was one of the core founders of DiscGenics and has become involved in the early stages of many businesses in the medical field. He was recognized by Goldman Sachs as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs at the 2021 Builders + Innovators Summit.

Mr. Flanagan has led DiscGenics as the Chief Executive Officer since it’s founding in 2007 and has overseen the Company’s evolution through the pre-clinical, clinical and commercialization preparation phases. He has been instrumental in building the DiscGenics team and raising funding to support the ongoing needs of the business.

In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board at DiscGenics, Mr. Flanagan also serves on the boards of the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation, TrueDigital Systems, Peleton Medical, Triad Life Sciences, and Steribite.

Mr. Flanagan has been an outspoken leader on the importance of upholding rigorous regulatory standards established to ensure cell and gene therapies demonstrate therapeutic effect as well as manufacturing consistency and meet critical safety standards for patients.
